Join in Serving Others
At FBC Mart, there are a variety of ways you get involved through service to God, the church and the community.
Children’s Ministry
There are several opportunities to serve in the children’s ministry.
- KidVenture
Wednesday nights we have ministry for children preschool through sixth grade that begins with a light meal and involves Bible study, music, and crafts led by dedicated and experienced teachers. - VBS
Each year we have a Vacation Bible School ministry for children preschool through sixth grade for one week that reaches out to the community and our church members for three hours each day of the week where the children are involved in Bible study, recreation, crafts, and music.
Sunday morning
We have ministry to children on Sunday mornings that involves Bible study, crafts, and music for children beginning with preschool through the sixth grade.
One Heart Project
We are piloting a mentoring program for mentors who will volunteer to work with at-risk youth and young people. There is the requirement to get background checks, finger-printed, and to be trained through "One Heart Project" which helps to provide support for the mentors as they reach out to at-risk youth and young people. There are continuing needs for mentors.
Properties Committee
This committee supervises the maintenance of the church buildings and properties. We need volunteers to help on work days. We have needs for people to volunteer to open and close the buildings for ministries and services. If someone has a special skill such as plumbing and carpentry, there are always needs that arise.
Sunday School
We have opportunities for service in the Sunday school as back-up teachers, Sunday School secretary, and other opportunities to be trained and mentored in working with the Bible study ministry of the church.
Women's Missionary Union
The ladies of our church meet once a month to plan events, consider needs of the church, talk about ministry opportunities, and plan efforts that support local, state and international missions. They schedule speakers such as missionaries to speak to the women. They take on local mission projects. They grant a scholarship from our church to a graduating senior from our local high school for college.
Open House
We open our doors to the public for an invitation to have a light breakfast or brunch with us from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday mornings. We get to know one another, have a short devotional and prayer, and spend time telling stories. There are opportunities to provide food and clean up after the meeting.
There are always opportunities to call members of the church to visit with them and reach out along with opportunities to bring people to church who are not going to church or who are not Christians.
There are opportunities to be an usher for our worship services which requires some training in what to look for concerning certain safety protocols.
Music Ministry
We have plenty of room in our music ministry. Following are a few areas to serve.
- Choir
- Solos, Duets, etc.
- Special Music (Piano, Organist, Instruments, etc)
- Children's Musicals (like Family Night at Christmas)
- Special Programs (Spring Banquet)
- Sound Technician
- Video Technician
